Jacqueline has been involved in the health and fitness industry since 1997 and has taken on several roles during this period to contribute to the flourishing industry needs, both academically and commercially.
Having been an academic staff at Republic Polytechnic for the School of Sports, Health & Leisure (Diploma in Sports and Exercise Science), she believes that it is essential to not only train her clients physically, but also to educate them in the intrinsics of what they are doing, and what they will achieve out of Pilates and exercise in general .
Jacqueline's experience include being Fitness Director for both Golds Gym and World Gym (Taiwan), and the years of exposure in the industry has allowed her to see the need to marry commercialism with up to date sports science research in offering a holistic approach to health and wellness. She often attends workshops and conferences, believing that continual education is key to be able to offer the best strategies to her clients.
Her interest in Pilates led her to conduct a research agenda on ' The effect of different types of breathing techniques on trunk muscle innervation'. She hopes to develop a breathing technique specific to client’s goals and current body state, by conducting further research in the future.
Jacqueline frequently contributes articles and also serves as fitness advisor for fitness magazines. She is currently the fitness and nutrition advisor to BabyCenter Singapore.
